The aged Radiology Department at AtlantiCare’s Mainland Campus required a full multi-phased renovation to existing spaces to modernize the facility and increase patient capacity. The new 16,500 sqft department, completed across four phases, includes two Cat Scans, two Nuclear Medicine rooms, two Mammography rooms, two X-Rays, two X-Ray and Fluoroscopy rooms, and two Ultrasound rooms.
As a critical function of the hospital, this project required effective project management solutions in coordinating communication across numerous departments during construction to complete the project in an operationally active hospital department with minimal disruption. Project management services included coordination of hospital facilities, bio-medical department, information technology, ICRA, cleaning services, equipment planning, and construction.
Careful orchestration of all departments was necessary for each phase to be completed prioritizing patient safety and schedule. The new department creates better patient and provider experiences by modernizing space and increasing operational efficiency through the separation of out- and in-patient spaces.
